To prove I’m not completely dead, here’s a watercolor I finished recently!
Sorry for the lack of updates. I haven’t been feeling well at all for the past month and a half and my day job is all I really have energy for lately. Sad, but true! I’m still drawing and sewing, but with a lot less momentum. So it still may be awhile before a real site update. But I am alive! And I will be back full force once I start feeling better.
I have a bunch of Flashlight books. I’ll be listing them on Etsy soon, but I’d like to offer them to you here first! They will be a dollar more on Etsy, so here’s your chance to save a buck! It’s a BIG awesome book and I’m super proud of it.
Specs: 8.5 x 11 inches. Matte laminated color cover. 20 black and white interior pages (the comic itself is 15 pages).
Price: $6.00
Shipping: $4.00 US, $5.00 International

To order, please send your payment to mbaehr85[at]yahoo[dot]com. Be sure that your mailing address is up to date AND please write “Flashlight” in the Subject line and/or Message box.

Welp, MoCCA is over! If you haven’t been following my LiveJournal, I wrote a little report here and a bit about my swag here. Hooray!
As always after MoCCA, I’m feeling super pumped to get started on a new project! I have a couple of 30 to 50 pagers I’ll be getting started on soon. They may or may not have a regular updating schedule. We shall see! And, of course, there is my graphic novel which I will be getting super serious about after my trip to France in the fall.
Flashlight was received well at MoCCA! It even got a lovely review on Robot 6 by Kiel Phegley. Thank you Kiel!!
I’m feeling pretty happy about my comics career lately! It’s a long road, but I’m getting there.
I’ll be rocking it at table number 636 with the lovely Patricia Burgess!

Drop by and say hello! I’d love to meet you and I have a whole pile of goodies for you to look at.
Here is my current list of goodies:
- “Flashlight” first edition, beautifully printed with a matte color cover. Awesome!
- Mini comics of “A Taste of Paradise,” “The Thunderbird,” and “Worth the Effort” (with a new green cover!). I will also have the last copies of “Moonstruck” which I will not be reprinting. So grab them while you can!
- A collection of plush dolls from my shop, Nonesuch Garden.
- Miscellaneous art/buttons. I’ll have a pile of 100 Tiny Monster Seconds with me that I will either paint on site or you can buy them blank and color them yourself!
- FREE! Business cards, bookmarks, and postcards. The bookmarks feature a valuable coupon to my Etsy shop!
I’ll see all you ladies on Friday night for the Drink & Draw Like a Lady gathering. And I’ll see the rest of you on Saturday! HOORAY!
The Trees and Hills Comics Group is putting out a new anthology called “First Harvest.” I did the art for the cover! And here it is!

The anthology is 166 pages and will sell for $10.00. I believe Trees and Hills will have them for sale at MoCCA.

I’m finished making proto-types! This one is the real deal!
YEAH!
OMG, WALLETS!
They are made with old canvas paintings I did in college and cotton fabric.
This one is the successful prototype.
My library card can show you how it’s done! There’s room for 6 cards. (Or more if you like to cram your wallet full of stuff like I do.)
You have to put your own money in it, though.
I can’t wait to make more!
Looook! Looooooooook!
YAY!
It’s being printed by 360 Digital Books. They have been lovely to work with! This is the proof. I can’t WAIT to get the final books!
The last page of Flashlight will be up tomorrow!
Flashlight updates will resume next week. I apologize for the delay, but this has been a really rough week for me.
