A note on Lore Keeper updates:
I will still be posting here with sketches and such, but to get the whole picture, please visit:
It’s a Tumblr blog so if you have an account you can follow it! Or you can grab the RSS feed here.
This one is pretty major! You notice that the “My Graphic Novel” button in the Menu bar has been re-named. That’s right! My baby graphic novel finally has a title! It feels really, really good! This title has brought about another wave of major changes to my story. Good changes. Great changes! I’m super pumped about it and I am confident that I’ll be starting this thing before the end of the year. It’s finally happening! I can do this! Yeah!
The Lore Keeper page has been overhauled quite a bit. I wrote a reeeally long history of this project if you’re interested why it has taken me five years to get to this point. There’s an updated link to my travel journal comic and I made a little gallery of all of the concept art I could find from the very beginning to now.
The rest of my pages have been updated as well. It almost feels like a new website! Hooray!
I’ve been tweaking my website over the past couple of days. Most notably, I changed the side bar. As you can see, you’ll soon be able to purchase my comics! I’m really excited about this! I’m waiting until after SPX to launch the shop so stay tuned! (BTW, I didn’t mean to delete my link list! It was an accident and then I couldn’t figure out how to get it back. But I like the cleaned up look… Sorry, guys. I may rebuild a link list somewhere else on my site eventually.)
The other change is on the Comics page. I finally made use of the Category function and archived all my comics. It’s a lot cleaner and functions a lot nicer now! Hooray!
In other news… Well, there isn’t really any other news… I’ve been buried in Nonesuch Garden orders lately, which is fantastic, but time consuming! I have a little break between orders this weekend so I’ll be doing more concept drawings for my graphic novel. My Daily Sketch Journal is collecting dust, but perhaps I will work on trying to catch up a bit on that, too.
Anyhow, stay dry and safe this weekend!
A character height chart of the main characters of my graphic novel. (Click to make it bigger!)
From left to right: Hodei, Gero, Nahia, Gau, and Indar.
(The excited doodle in the bottom right corner is me expressing my approval. Haha!)
Indar is Hodei and Gero’s father. Gau is Nahia’s father. I hope you can see the resemblances!!
Yes, Cro-Magnon man was this tall.
Yes, I do plan on inking this!
I used to worry a lot that my clothing designs weren’t simple enough for the time period, but I really, really like them so I’m keeping them! So far, my plan is for this book to be roughly 300 pages. I need to like what I’m drawing, yes? Plus, we haven’t a CLUE what these people wore aside from some very intricate jewelry. Who’s to say their clothing wasn’t equally as detailed?
Anyway, now that you know what my characters look like, you can start making me fan art now. (Kidding!)
(Or am I…? )
Remember that drawing of Hodei I made awhile back? This one:
Well, the fruit of my labor has finally arrived! My AMAZING iPad 2 case from Grove Made arrived yesterday:
The image is laser engraved on the leather cover. The case is handmade by the Grove Team in Portland, Oregon. Their attention to detail and dedication to perfection is breathtaking. It’s one of the most beautiful things I have ever held in my hands. I love the contrast between the cool metal and glass of the iPad and the warm bamboo and leather of the case. It makes my iPad 2 feel complete! I know I will be inspired to work on my graphic novel every time I look at it!
